§ Mr. Douglas HoggWe are not persuaded of the necessity for such action. If an occurrence is not written up at the time, or very shortly after it takes place, the officer concerned will be expected to record the date and time at which it is subsequently noted. In the Metropolitan police this is a requirement in standing orders.
