§ Mr. FreemanThe latest estimate of the cost of the training village project at Copehill Down on Salisbury plain is £8.169 million. The main contractor for this work is ARC Construction Ltd. Other tenders for the contract were received from:
- Balfour Beatty Ltd.
- Cementation Construction Ltd.
- M. J. Gleason Group Ltd.
- Haymills (Contractors) Ltd.
- Higgs and Hill Building Ltd.
- The Miller Group Ltd.
- A. Monk and Co. plc.
- Edmund Nuttall Ltd.
The major sub-contractors are as follows:
- Rapid Structures.
- N. G. Bailey and Co. Ltd.
- Blakedown Landscapes Ltd.
- Oxford Asphalt Ltd.
- Blackfords Services.
The construction work is about 12 per cent. complete and on present plans it is anticipated the project will finish on schedule late in 1989.
