HC Deb 17 May 1988 vol 133 c407W
Mr. Cran

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services what plans he has to assist the Royal National Institute for the Deaf, over and above sums guaranteed under the concerned technology scheme, with the funding needed to operate and develop the telephone exchange for the deaf on a long-term basis.

Mr. Scott

It was made clear to the Royal National Institute for the Deaf, when awarding a grant for 1987–88 and 1988–89 relating to the telephone exchange for the deaf, that this was for two years only and that when the grant expired it would be for the institute to find alternative sources of funding.
