§ 37. Mr. SackvilleTo ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science what representations he has received from members of the teaching profession about assessment and testing under the provisions of the Education Reform Bill.
§ Mrs. RumboldWe have received some 9,000 representations from individuals and organisations mentioning some aspect of national assessment and testing. Many of these do not indicate their background or their particular views on the Government's proposals. About half of a small sample of responses analysed appear to be from parents, a quarter from teachers, and a negligible proportion from pupils.
