HC Deb 17 May 1988 vol 133 c396W
Mr. Dunnachie

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will introduce legislation requiring local health authorities to supply information about voluntary organisations which can give help and support to deaf children and their parents.

Mr. Michael Forsyth

I do not consider that such legislation is required, since Scottish local authorities responsible for social work services are already under a statutory duty to provide disabled people with such information on services provided by themselves or other organisations as is in their possession.
