To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) how many family units with annual gross earnings of £20,000 to £25,000 and £25,000 and above receive child benefit; and what is the value of these payments for each income group;

(2) how many family units who pay higher rate income tax receive child benefit; and how much these payments cost.
