§ Mrs. Ray MichieTo ask the Secrtary of State for the Home Department if he will consider increasing the staff at the passport office in Glasgow.
§ Mr. RentonAdditional permanent and casual staff are being recruited to deal with the current high level of demand for passport services. There are now 124 staff in312W post as compared with 83 at the start of the year. The complement will be further increased progressively from October 1988 after the Glasgow office has been computerised and begins to handle postal applications from London.
