HC Deb 16 May 1988 vol 133 c303W
55. Mr. Ieuan Wyn Jones

To ask the Attorney-General whether the Lord Chancellor has any plans to review the Welsh/English interpretation services of the courts in Wales; and if he will make a statement.

The Attorney-General

The Welsh/English interpretation services comprise simultaneous translation facilities at selected Crown courts and a panel of some 20 interpreters selected and trained under the supervision of a Welsh circuit judge. The system works well and requirements are kept under review.
