§ Mrs. RumboldInformation and guidance on teachers' superannuation is provided by means of circular letters to all relevant employers, including independent schools. Since January 1987 four such letters have been issued, covering a wide range of subjects. Of particular relevance to independent schools was Teachers' Pensions Letter No. 89, issued in February 1988, relating to salary increases for teachers approaching retirement.
