HC Deb 12 May 1988 vol 133 c245W
Mr. Corbett

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will establish an independent and representative body to review the workings of the Abortion Act 1967 and to make recommendations.

Mr. Newton

We have no plans to do so. The main issues raised by abortion have been considered on a number of occasions, most recently by the House of Lords Select Committee on the Infant Life (Preservation) Bill, which reported earlier this year.
