To ask the Secretary of State for Energy if he will publish his Department's calculations of the relative costs of a coal-fired station in relation to Sizewell B, referred to in his decision letter of 12 March 1987 on the Central Electricity Generating Board's application to construct Sizewell B; and if he will make a statement.

I have nothing to add to the letter issued by my right hon. Friend on 12 March 1987, which adequately states the grounds for his decision to give consent to the power station at Sizewell B.
