§ Mr. AllenTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if he is monitoring the time taken in filling out Körner information forms by physiotherapists and occupational therapists in(a) the Nottingham district health authority and (b) generally; and if he will make a statement on the cost effectiveness of such information gathering.
§ Mr. NewtonThe Department is not monitoring the time taken to collect Körner information: this is a matter for authorities which are individually responsible for implementing Körner.
A variety of systems are being used to collect data about physiotherapy and occupational therapy. The aim of collecting this and other information is to assist management and professional staff in ensuring that resources are effectively used. The cost-effectiveness of the work in the short-term will therefore depend on what it shows, and what is done with it.
