To ask the Prime Minister, further to her answer to the hon. Member for Holborn and St. Pancras on 3 May,Official Report, column 350, whether the Hospitals for Sick Children special health authority ever asked the Government to meet the full costs of the refurbishment of Great Ormond street hospital for sick children.

The Prime Minister

The Hospitals for Sick Children special health authority has made no formal proposal for the Government to meet the full cost of its rebuilding programme. The authority has always accepted that the Government would not fully fund this scheme.
