To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he will give the amount spent by his Department on advertising for each year since 1984.

Information is not readily available for expenditure on advertising other than that spent centrally by my Department.

The figures which are readily available are:

Budget allocations for advertising during 1988–89 are still under discussion.
