HC Deb 10 May 1988 vol 133 cc73-4W
Mr. Barry Jones

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how much cash he has allocated to Clwyd county council in each of the years since April 1979 for PPA. (Wales) in real terms; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Grist

[holding answer 9 May 1988]: None. Departmental funding to support the activities of PPA (Wales) at the all-Wales level is made direct, not through local authorities. Funds provided by the Department to Clwyd under the all-Wales mental handicap strategy may be used in approved schemes to fund appropriate activities of voluntary groups, including local PPA groups, but the decision to provide funds for approved schemes, and the level of funding provided, is a matter for the authority to determine.
