§ Mr. ChopeMy Department's target reductions in energy usage for 1988–89 are:
Per cent. DOE (C) 5 PSA 5 Central DOE has reduced energy costs by about 18 per cent. over the past two years. In the case of PSA energy costs have been reduced by almost 13 per cent. over the same period.
Because of the wide range of operational requirements and types of buildings, it is not feasible to set specific targets for particular forms of energy consumption and investment in energy-efficient lighting equipment forms only part of the steps to be taken to reduce usage.
