To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment whether his Department has been informed of any initiatives by housing associations and private developers to purchase council estates or parts of estates.

I am aware that local authorities in many parts of the country have already disposed of houses and flats to housing associations and private developers or are discussing the possibility. The local authorities concerned will be the best source of information.
