§ Mr. LeeIn assisting tourism projects under section 4 of the Development of Tourism Act 1969, the English tourist board has made increasing use of grants which are repayable if the project achieves minimum performance targets. I have asked the board to seek to increase further its use of repayable forms of assistance.
The ETB may also reclaim assistance paid in cases where the offer conditions have been breached. In the 1987–88 financial year ETB agreed to seek reclaim of assistance totalling £263,000.
