§ Mr. Teddy TaylorTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) when Her Majesty's Government's representative at the European Council agreed to the directive providing for a common European Economic Community summer time to be introduced after 1990; whether any objections were lodged to its being classified under article 100A which provides for majority vote; and if he will make a statement;
(2) pursuant to the speech by the Under-Secretary of State, the hon. Member for Grantham (Mr. Hogg), on 28 April, Official Report, column 617, whether he has given further consideration to the appropriate classification of the summer time directive as being based on article 100A; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Douglas HoggNo directive has been prepared as yet to cover any period after 1989. When the Commission10W proposes the next draft directive, we shall consider most carefully the treaty base proposed in the context of the directive's content.
