§ Mr. MaddenTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many applications for registration for British citizenship were received by his Department in envelopes date stamped after 31 December 1987; how many such applicants have been told that their applications have been refused and their fee refunded; how many such applicants have been told that their applications have been accepted; and how many such applicants are still to be informed whether their application has been accepted or rejected.
§ Mr. RentonInformation is not available in the form requested. Approximately 13,500 applications for naturalisation or registration were received in the period 1 January to 30 April 1988. Applications are generally processed in order of receipt and very few post-December applications will have been decided yet.
