Dr. ThomasTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what benefits he expects to accrue to the Scottish economy, and in particular Caithness, from the maintenance and expansion of the Nuclear Power Development Establishment at Dounreay.
§ Mr. LangConsideration of the future of the fast reactor research programme, a major part of which is based at Dounreay, is the responsibility of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Energy. I recognise that activities at the Dounreay establishment are of substantial economic benefit to the local community in Caithness.
