§ Mr. Freeman[holding answer 28 April 1988]: As I explained in my letter of 18 April to the hon. Member, Mr. Wallace was granted a commission as a part-time member of the UDR in the rank of second-lieutenant and was granted the acting rank of captain both with effect from 18 January 1972.
