Mr. Wigley

To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he will give the increase for domestic product per capita in each of the regions of the United Kingdom since 1979; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Atkins

Estimates of gross domestic product per capita in each of the regions of the United Kingdom were published in the November 1987 edition ofEconomic Trends, a copy of which is available in the House Library.

Increases in gross domestic product per capita between 1979 and 1986 are provided for the specified regions in the table:
