Mr. Jackson

Changes in grants made available to universities in Great Britain on the advice of the University Grants Committee and the Computer Board have been:

Financial year Per cent. increase over previous year

1975–76 25.0
1976–77 13.4
1977–78 10.2
1978–79 11.2
1979–80 21.8

1 Estimates.

Universities also receive public funds from other sources, notably through the home undergraduate tuition fee, where changes in practice create difficulties for year-on-year comparisons.
