To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he intends to introduce special help for farmers or take any other measures to combat the pollution caused by modern farming methods.

My Department continues to encourage farmers, through the provision of assistance and advice, to adopt practices which minimise the risk of pollution. These measures are kept under continuous review to ensure they remain effective in combating pollution.
