HC Deb 31 March 1988 vol 130 c704W
Mr. Hume

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement indicating the total financial allocation to the new homes insulation scheme.

Dr. Mawhinney

[holding answer 30 March 1988]: The allocation for this scheme for the 1988–89 financial year is £297,000.

Mr. Hume

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what information is available to indicate the numbers of insulation grants made in each of the past three years to people who were not on housing benefit, supplementary benefit, or family income supplement.

Dr. Mawhinney

[holding answer 30 March 1988]: No such information is available.

Mr. Hume

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what information is available to indicate the numbers and total values of supplementary benefit single payments for insulation or draught-proofing in Northern Ireland in 1986 and 1987.

Dr. Mawhinney

[holding answer 30 March 1988]: Information in the precise form requested is not readily available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost. However, the annual statistical inquiry shows that the following payments were made for draught-proofing during the preceding 12 months to people on supplementary benefit at the time of the inquiry:

Inquiry Single Payments
Numbers £
February 1986 8,307 468,718
May 1986 11,776 502,319
