§ Mrs. ChalkerI refer my hon. Friend to the reply that I gave on 21 October to my hon. Friend the Member for Southend, East (Mr. Taylor). Since then, qualified majority voting has led to the adoption of air transport liberalisation measures and the public supplies directive which opens up contract opportunities. It has enabled a common position to be reached by the Council on a number of other single market measures, including non-life insurance and toy safety.
