To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what progress was made on the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in seeking to maintain the policy of the flexible response.

The declaration issued by Heads of Government at the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit confirms the continuing validity of the Alliance's strategy, which depends on anappropriate mix of adequate and effective nuclear and conventional forces which will continue to be kept up to date where necessary.
