The number of persons convicted of murder is published annually in Table S2.1(A) ofCriminal Statistics, England and Wales, Supplementary Tables Volume 2, copies of which are in the Library; the figures for 1957–86 are given in the following table. The corresponding figure for 1987 is not yet available.
