§ Mr. McAllionTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment if he will make a statement on his Department's decision to close the Health and Safety Executive office in Dundee as from 1 April.
§ Mr. NichollsThe Health and Safety Commission and Executive are responsible for the deployment of their staff. Their decision to close the Dundee office was taken because it no longer presents a viable base for the efficient organisation of inspection. The planned redeployment of staff will not reduce the present service in Dundee or the rest of HSE's Scotland east area.
