§ Mr. BoyesTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if, pursuant to the answer of 16 March,Official Report, column 613, he will state how many automated systems for cervical cancer screening have been considered by his Department; and when a final decision as to funding of such systems may be expected.
§ Mrs. CurrieThe expert panel chaired by the Department's chief scientist on 26 February reviewed 13 separate applications for funds to support developments in this field.
In the light of the panel's views, the Department is now exploring putting together a package of interrelated work. This is being done as speedily as possible.
