HC Deb 28 March 1988 vol 130 c362W
Mr. Livingstone

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence in what circumstances a full Army medical board sits in the absence of the patient when medical reclassification is being considered.

Mr. Freeman

I refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave him on 11 December 1987 at column311.

Mr. Livingstone

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what safeguards there are to prevent false information being given by commanding officers on special confidential reports to the Army medical authorities concerning officers under their command who may be undergoing medical assessment.

Mr. Freeman

The individual who is the subject of a special confidential report or a medical report may appeal under section 180 of the Army Act 1955. Special confidential reports are distinct from medical reports.
