To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how much of total central Government revenue is currently attributable to income tax paid at each rate currently in force.

[holding answer 3 March 1988]: The available information is given in the table. The estimates are based on liability to income tax and not on income tax receipts which cannot be broken down into the different rates of tax.
