To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he has any changes to announce to his Department's cash limits.

Mr. Trippier

The non-voted cash limit for urban aid expenditure (DOE/UA1) for 1987–88 has been increased by £0.75 million from £437.483 million to £438.233 million in respect of capital spending by local authorities on the inner cities initiative. This increase reflects a switch of provision within the inner cities initiative which was presented to Parliament in the Winter Supplementary Estimate for Class V, Vote 2 relating to expenditure by the Department of Trade and Industry.
