To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, further to his reply to the hon. Member for Ealing, Acton,Official Report, column 1096, 16 March concerning the community charge, if he will place in the Library the preliminary estimates to which he referred.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what representations he has received seeking the exemption from the poll tax of overseas students and their dependents during the duration of their course of studies; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Howard

We have received a number of representations concerning overseas students. All full-time students—including those from overseas—will be liable to pay only 20 per cent. of the personal community charge.
