To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will take steps to secure the publication of the report conducted by officers of the Northamptonshire police into the conduct of the Metropolitan police at Wapping on 24 January 1987.

No. Such reports are always treated as confidential. The commission will consult the Director of Public Prosecutions and the Police Complaints Authority in due course on whether criminal or disciplinary proceedings should be taken against any police officer on the basis of the report.
