HC Deb 24 March 1988 vol 130 c202W
Mr. Goodlad

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many homeless persons in Scotland have previously been admitted to mental hospitals; and what this figure represents as a percentage of the total number of homeless persons in Scotland.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

The information requested is not available.

In the year 1986–87, about 250 applicant households in priority need had a household member vulnerable because of mental handicap or mental illness. This represents approximately 2 per cent. of homeless households.
