To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will publish the results of his consultations with medical experts on the rise in infant mortality in 1986.

Mrs. Currie

As indicated by officials to the Select Committee on Social Services, we have not yet received any report of these consultations which are continuing. We shall consider whether further action is necessary once we receive their views.
