§ Mr. Ian StewartThe additional cost of maintaining a garrison in the Falkland Islands from April 1983 to the end of the last financial year is estimated to be £1,425 million in cash terms, or about £700,000 per Falkland Islander. Figures for 1982–83 do not distinguish between campaign and garrison costs.
