To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what steps he proposes to implement Project 2,000.

We want to receive an education and training which not only equips them for their future roles, but is sufficiently attractive to recruit and retain those who might otherwise be tempted into other fields. We fully recognise the importance of the proposals that the UKCC has put forward which are designed to meet these ends, and hope to be in a position to make a response very soon.
