HC Deb 23 March 1988 vol 130 c136W
Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence (1) what is the present field of view, in all dimensions, of the Fylingdales ballistic missile early warning system station; and if there is any other early warning system that would detect a ballistic missile attack on the United Kingdom which did not pass through the field of view of the Fylingdales station;

(2) if Her Majesty's Government or Her Majesty's forces have access to information gathered at BMEWS sites in Greenland and Alaska.

Mr. Ian Stewart

I have nothing to add to the reply given by my hon. Friend the Member for Kettering (Mr. Freeman) to the hon. Member for Monklands, West (Mr. Clarke) on 24 March 1987 at column136. I am not prepared to reveal the detailed operational characteristics of the Fylingdales system.
