§ Mr. NeedhamThe Department of Agriculture has monitored the operation of the Dogs (Northern Ireland) Order 1983 since it came into force. The order was aimed at encouraging responsible dog ownership, reducing the stray dog population and ensuring the effective licensing and control of dogs and it has been well received. There are no proposals for parity of legislation.
