§ Mr. Peter WalkerTotal gross receipts from farming activity in Wales in 1987 (including grants and compensation payments) were provisionally estimated to be £827.7 million; of which milk and milk products represented £274.5 million; cattle fattening and rearing, £199.2 million; sheep, lamb and wool, £159.8 million; and other products, £128.5 million. Other receipts (including grants and compensation payments) were £65.7 million.
Total net income from farming activities in Wales after taking account of all farming costs including feeding stuffs, fertilisers, machinery, veterinary and medicines and so on and after allowing for depreciation, interest payments, rent and labour costs, was £57.3 million.
