§ Mr. Norman Lamont[pursuant to his reply, 16 March 1988, c. 566–68]: I regret that the figure for the level of gross income at which the top rate of tax becomes payable in the United Kingdom was wrongly given as £19,301. The figure is £23,396. The revised table is as follows:
