§ Mr. HunterTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department why the name of a constituent of the hon. Member for Basingstoke, the name of whom has been forwarded to him, whose conviction by court martial was quashed by the Courts Martial Appeals Court in 1963, has not been removed from the criminal records of the national identification bureau.
§ Mr. Douglas HoggAs my noble Friend Lord Ferrers explained to the hon. Member in his letter of 9 March 1988, the conviction of his constituent by court martial has been retained on the records of the national identification bureau because it has not been notified of the result of any appeal. The bureau is now seeking further information from the prosecuting authority, following my hon. Friend's representation on behalf of his constituent.
