HC Deb 17 March 1988 vol 129 cc645-6W
Mr. Wray

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what information he has as to how many research projects on the impact of chlorofluorocarbons and halogens upon the environment and, specifically, the ozone layer are at present being carried out in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Moynihan

I listed in my reply to a question by the hon. Member on 2 November 1987, column437, the establishments funded by the Department, and the stratospheric ozone research topics on which they are engaged. In addition, the Department co-operates closely with the programmes supported by the Meteorological Office, the Natural Environment Research Council, the Science and Engineering Research Council, the Department of Trade and Industry and the Chemical Manufacturers Association.
