HC Deb 16 March 1988 vol 129 cc597-8W
27. Mr. Janner

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what recent representations he has received concerning the protection of badgers setts.

Mr. Moynihan

We have received a number of representations from right hon. and hon. Members and members of the public on this matter. The badger already receives a substantial degree of protection under the Badgers Act 1973 and the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, as amended. We have no plans at present to amend the current statutory provisions.
