HC Deb 16 March 1988 vol 129 c616W
Mr. Beggs

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the cost of his Department's advertising campaign currently being screened on television and broadcast on radio.

Dr. Mawhinney

The cost of the present, television only, campaign from its inception on 18 January 1988 to 14 March 1988 is £136,000, including £73,600 for production of the commercial.

The BBC did not use the commercial but did broadcast a supporting public information message on radio and television; only minor production costs were met by the Northern Ireland Office.
