HC Deb 15 March 1988 vol 129 cc524-5W
Dr. David Clark

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will place in the Library the results of the surveys of deposition of radioactivity in the Skipton area of Yorkshire following the Chernobyl fallout.

Mr. Donald Thompson

[holding answer 14 March 1988]: I am placing in the Library of the House copies of the report of the surveys which were carried out by the Institute of Terrestrial Ecology (ITE). This report was produced by ITE after full evaluation of the project had been completed; the detailed deposition information was available to my officials at the time the individual surveys were undertaken. The results of our own monitoring in north Yorkshire has already been placed in the Library. The ITE is engaged on my behalf in a further study of radio-caesium deposition in north Yorkshire; when it is completed, I will place that report in the Library.
