To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is the current level of the United Kingdom contributions to CERN.

Mr. Jackson
The United Kingdom subscription to the CERN budget in 1988 is 128.2 million Swiss francs (about £52 million); this represents 16.8 per cent. of the organisation's total budget.
